'Jesus Of Nazareth' Proposed Film Angers Christians With Depiction Of Jesus As Result Of Rape

Mr. Verhoeven is entitled to his viewpoint.



But, in my opinion, there is no reason to think that Joseph wasn't Jesus' father assuming that any of these people actually existed. The "son of god" stuff is only the standard hero myth which has been applied to many others where a god has impregnated a mortal woman by some absurd means or other.



As for the "rape" theory, it's possible but, at this point, not more than speculation.



The simplest explanation, it seems to me, is generally the best!
