Ed's talk: Feb 16, 2016

Antonin Scalia, who passed away February 13th 2016, is being praised for his brilliant intellect. In fact, he had a more complicated character then his critics often gave him credit for as shown, for example, by his friendships with Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Elena Kagan.

Nevertheless, his comments supporting lower grade college education for the supposed "inferior intellects" of black people made him a racist and his anger at the passing by the Supreme Court of support of same-sex marriage made him a virulent homophobe.

To say nothing of his opposition to the Affordable Care Act and his disgraceful remark about "jiggery-pokery"!

In short, an incredible and condescending hypocrite!

In his lifetime, he caused great harm to this country and afterwards he will continue to do so in the looming battle of appointing his successor.
